REVIEW: AAA Sin Limite - Naucalpan Enero 23, 2015

I don't quite fully understand the Spanish language, but lucha libre is universal!

This event took place in Arena Naucalpan on January (Enero) 23, 2015 as per the title of this review as well as some google translate help.    I've been watching lucha libre for over ten years, as I found it on television in Texas and when I moved back to Connecticut realized it was on YouTube for free and legally.

Match One: Ludxor / Venum / Dinastia / Ares vs. Carta Brava Jr. / El Apache / Mini Psycho Clown / Ciclope

The fact that Mini Psycho Clown is in this might throw you off and so you'll think it was a match made completely of mini's but some of these luchadores just seem smaller, like in the way that Rey Mysterio isn't as big as Alberto El Patron and yet Rey Mysterio isn't a mini.   Fast paced, high flying.   What you would expect from a ring full of this many luchadores with their abilities to move quickly and sail through the skies.    Carta Brava Jr.'s team picked up the win via pinfall.

Match Two: Australian Suicide / Bengala vs. Pentagon Jr. / Joe Lider

Australian Suicide is one of the worst wrestling names ever.   Why would Australia want to kill themselves?   Bengala is some wonderful mix of Tiger Mask and a kitty cat.   I really wish Lucha Underground would bring in Joe Lider, but I don't want him to be a part of the "master" angle going on with Pentagon Jr.    The team of Pentagon Jr. and Lider has a lot of titles.    Pentagon Jr. is still a heel in Mexico, which translates well from his Lucha Underground character, as if you ever want to know who the rudos are in a match just look for which one has a manager that interferes.    In this case it is Taya who is on the side of Pentagon Jr. and Lider.   We haven't seen her in Lucha Underground and I am not at all complaining about that.      Taya took a nice spot from Bengala but moved out of the way of the double foot stomp from the top rope via Australian Suicide.   Not sure how a wrestler can have "suicide" in their name and be cheered.     Australian Suicide ultimatley hit a very quick top rope move that might have been a shooting star press onto Lider for the win.   It all happened so quickly, but I don't believe any championships changed hands thankfully.   So yeah, let's get Pentagon Jr. with Joe Lider as a tag team in Lucha Underground one day soon.

El Hijo del Fantasma came out to talk.   He looks like the Phantom that was a part of "Defenders of the Earth"/a Billy Zane movie, though he only wears the purple mask not the full purple body outfit.    I'm not sure what he said but he came out to "Welcome to the Jungle".

Konnan was then shown backstage with Pentagon Jr. and Joe Lider when Cibernetico Aguayo came in and put a Singapore cane to his throat and started yelling.     Konnan somehow calmed him down and they were talking about Myzteziz and El Patron.   I don't know why Konnan's two guys just didn't beat up one Cibernetico but oh well.   There are three Hell Brothers and they're up next.

Match Three: La Parka / Jack Evans / Drago vs. Hell Brothers (Cibernetico / Chessman / Averno)

Averno is the Hell Brother I can never remember the name of for some reason.   Hell Brothers should be in Lucha Underground though, just like the Psycho Circus but that might become a bit overwhelming with all those luchadores in an hour long block.    If you don't know who anyone is in this match you should watch it just to learn.   Jack Evans usually tags with Angelico who is in Lucha Underground yet absent from this show.   The Hell Brothers are such a solid unit bringing them into Lucha Underground would be like when The Shield came into WWE because they could just tear everyone apart like a pack of wolves.    At one point La Parka side stepped Chessman as he flew into the turnbuckles and then hit Averno with a tiltawhirl backbreaker.   Wow.   It is worth noting Drago is wearing a gold color scheme in this match as he is normally a light blue in Lucha Underground.    Jack Evans flies onto most everyone on the outside and it's just Cibernetico and La Parka in the ring, arguably two of the biggest names in lucha libre.    The Hell Brothers regroup and with Jack Evans and Drago absent they hit a threeway powerbomb on La Parka for the pin and win.    This one just came down to the numbers game and the Hell Brothers run it better.

Match Four:  Aerostar vs. Monsther Clown vs. Super Fly vs. H. Del Pirata Morgan

Aerostar and Super Fly have both been pretty regular in Lucha Underground now.   Monsther Clown is part of the Psycho Circus and H. Del Pirata Morgan used to be Pirate Morgan I think but otherwise I'm not too familiar with him and don't feel like I've seen a lot of him lately.    Morgan is the only luchadore in this match not wearing a mask.     Monsther Clown and Morgan had a sequence, then left the ring for Super Fly and Aerostar to have a sequence.    Monsther Clown began doing jumping jacks when two other luchadores showed up to stalk the match.    One has sort of spikes in his mask like Hellraiser and the other is in all black so you can't even see a mask or anything.   Not sure who either of them are or if they've been named by name.    The guy in all black takes off his hood to reveal he is Electroshock.      This is apparently Electroshock's heel turn as he was a technico prior to this.  The trio of Electroshock, H. Del Pirata Morgan and someone else I'm not sure of beat down the clown and everyone else really, though it ends with Aerostar getting the pin over Super Fly.    Just like in Lucha Underground, am I right?

Match Five: Myzteziz / Psycho Clown vs. Perro Aguayo / Texano Jr.

Texano Jr. just showed up in Lucha Underground recently but if you go back and watch his feud with Alberto El Patron for the AAA Championship you'll see a lot of Perro Aguayo as they're sort of running buddies.   Psycho Clown is another member of the Psycho Circus while Myzteziz is the former Mistico who went to WWE as Sin Cara and was released when Hunico (who has also been Mistico) took over the role.   Confused?   It's easier if you think of there as only ever being one Mistico but sadly that is not the case and Myzteziz is not Mistico now for a reason.    A results page I just checked via google search won't tell me who the third person from the last match was.   Weird.   Sin Cara is sporting yellow and white tonight.   Umm... I mean Myzteziz.  Boy is that a pain to type.   Reaching for all those z's.    And this match is starting in the stands.   Texano hits Psycho Clown with a trash can.   Perro drops a chair across the back of Myzteziz.   Perro is biting and trying to rip the mask off of Myzteziz.   His mask is coming half off now.   He's like a battle damaged Spider-Man only yellow.  Texano is also trying to get Psycho Clown's mask off.   Interesting that the two rudos don't wear masks and are also going right after them on their opponents.    Perro has some sort of broken glass.  It looks like a bottle neck.   Perro slams Myzteziz's face down into a chair that's set up for sitting and the two technicos in this match are taking a beating with little fighting back.  A "Let's Go Psycho" chant breaks out.    Perro keeps biting Myzteziz.   All four men are outside of the ring and I'm thinking this match has no rules.   Now Myzteziz is back in with the rudos.  Some kind of board is set up in the corner.    Myzteziz gets hit in the opposite corner by Texano but then Perro misses his spot.   Psycho Clown catches Texano and Myzteziz throws Perro through that board.   Texano is out in the crowd and Myzteziz jumps from inside the ring out into the fourth row to get him!   Psycho Clown has the bull rope and is whipping Perro in the ring.    Myzteziz then jumps from the balcony onto Perro and I have no idea how those two guys got so close together when they were in different places before.   This is pure chaos but I love it.   It reminds me of the good old fashioned brawls New Jack used to have in ECW.   Psycho Clown has Texano now.   Texano is in the crowd.   Myzteziz and Psycho Clown are in the ring with Perro.   Myzteziz dropkicks a chair that's wrapped around the ankle of Perro.   Ouch.   The crowd is going wild and Psycho Clown is chasing Perro up the entrance steps with a chair now.   Now he's playing it like a guitar.   Now everyone except Texano is in the ring.  Perro broke a broom stick or something over Perro's back.   Perro and Texano take some time to regroup outside the ring as Myzteziz and Psycho Clown play to the crowd.    I think the match just officially started, as Myzteziz and Texano are in the ring while their partners are on the aprons.   I'm pretty sure the crowd is chanting "Mistico" and not for the first time tonight.   Perro and Myzteziz chop each other silly.   Arm drag by Myzteziz followed by a head scissors that sends Perro back outside.   Plancha.   Now Texano and Psycho Clown are slapping each other.   I love when the commentators yell "Psycho! Psycho! Psycho!" as if it's one big word.   Texano whips Perro by mistake.  And Psycho Clown takes out everyone.   And Psycho Clown with a jump from the top rope onto Texano in the fourth row of his own.   Myzteziz locks an arm bar submission on Perro and he taps for the end of this match.   Wow, who would have thought this would end with a submission hold in the middle of the ring?

Post match Hell Brothers, Fantasma, Pentagon Jr and Joe Lider came out to beat the hell out of Myzteziz and Psycho Clown.    I'm guessing we're going for a Myzteziz/Psycho Clown/Alberto El Patron vs. Hell Brothers match but then again the entire Psycho Circus has fought Hell Brothers and so basically everyone just seems to be at war with everyone else.

This was the first event from 2015 that AAA put up in full and you can watch it on their YouTube page for free right here:  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMA4MOXJ3L5K9jKEDyFX6LQ

Until next time... Adios!!
